Try going to a bicycle shop and getting some "tri-flow".  Great stuff, I have 
used it on my bicycles, dirt bikes and my road bikes for years.  It holds off 
water well, being teflon based it isn't sticky and provides good lubrication. 
 It is also good for cable lube.
