[ST] Arai policy change for Phone and internet sales

"Why is there such a large difference in the cost of helments. They all
must
meet the same standards, after that it looks like you are paying for
paint
and padding and vents. Why can someone sell the helment on the net for
$200
dollars less than in the store. Sounds like a pretty stiff markup to
me."

Exactly. I personally have owned or own 4 Arai's. Two I bought at
dealers who gave me a reasonable deal vs mail order and two I bought
mail order when dealers refused to come anywhere NEAR to what I could
get a helmet mail order. (After trying the helmets on at the dealer for
correct fit, and telling them exactly what I could get the hemet for and
what I was willing to pay them , BTW.) It's the same thing as tires.
This is America and if you want my money, you need to give me value for
it. I refuse to pay $200 more for a helmet (The cost diff for my
current RX7-RRIV) for the privledge of buying locally and having a
"helmet tech" fit my helmet. I know at least 10 times more about proper
helmet fit than any motorcycle accessory salesman I've ever talked to in
any local motorcyle shop.
I doubt this policy will last long. This is price fixing, plain and
simple.
