Re: [ST] New Daytona

Personally I love it but I don't so much about being distinctly Triumph.
They have got to build bikes that sell and that is the look that does it.
Triumph and the rest of the British bike industry was faced with similar
problems years ago and they chose to go their own way and produce
distinctively British bikes, I don't think I need to tell anyone where they
all went. So far I have heard that "I like the styling, I don't like the
styling, it looks like a Kawasaki, it looks like a Suzuki". To me it looks
like a 2001 Daytona because that's what it is. Triumph have got to appeal to
the masses and like every other manufacturer they must make what people are
buying. If all they had done was change the colour most people would have
said that it was a waste of time. They can't win. They can't do what Harley
do, change the air cleaner, call it a new model and sell shitloads of them.
I think they have done a damn good job and as long as I am in the majority
it will pay off for them.
