That's the info I've been trying to get, but so far only a few have
responded

Seems to me that the rules about 'one headlight at a time' changed only
recently (if anyone know for sure please let us know). I thought Great
Britain was one such case.

If it turns out that in Great Britain '99 STs operate standard with both
lights on and that this changed in '00, then we should be able to tell
what's what by getting the lens info off samples of both years.

If the part numbers are the same in a given country even though the
functionality changed, then I think it would be safe to assume that the
difference in part number in Great Briyain vs the North America would be
attributable to the fact that in Great Britain you ride on the left.

If, however, we find out that the lens part numbers are different for '99 vs
'00 STs in Great Britain, then I don't think it proves anything
categorically (part numbers could have changed for an entirely different
reason), but it would tend to suggest that the lenses on the '00 are
different due to the different roles of each headlight.
