Bummer, Lisa.  Tell Richard to heal soon.  Pat broke his elbow this 
past summer and he narrowly missed having to have a similar kind of
surgery.  Unfortunately for him it happened right at the beginning of
summer, so no soccer, no motorcycles, and no tandeming (bicycle).  
Sounds like Richard should be good as new for the best part of riding
season!
