this may be a direct result of an incident that happened a couple of
years ago at one of his classes -- a woman that i know, a relatively
new rider, signed up and attended CLASS quite early in her riding
career.  she was completely unprepared for what a track feels like (wide,
open, fast), and i think she basically freaked out -- she took an
early turn too wide, and managed to fracture her wrist.  and this was
on the _very_ first lap around the track -- the "take you around and
show you the track" lap.  :-/  she was clearly in over her head, and
the class didn't do quite enough "prep" for people of her level.

i suspect pridmore spends more time screening his learners these days.

regarding CSS vs. CLASS -- i've taken CLASS, and although it was a
fantastic experience, i confess to being underwhelmed by the quality
of the instruction (not either of the pridmores, but of the other
instructors).  i'm looking forward to trying CSS one of these days.
