my wife and i use a winch to get the bikes into our van. no remote
switch, so it's a two person job. but for pulling bikes you don't
really need _that_ strong an anchor -- our winch is mounted on a small
board which has some big eyebolts through it. the eyes of the bolts
in turn slip over a piece of pipe that lies behind the front seats of
the van, and is strapped to the seat bases with nylon straps. very
easy to install/remove. i'm sure something similar could be rigged in
a truck, if you didn't want to weld to it.
