tailgate loading

I have a dodge ram 1500 2wd, and yes the bike does
hang up on the top of a straight ramp. I have used
the following method for years with not even a slight
problem.
First I bought an 8' long pressure treated 2 x 12
(fits in the bed with the tailgate closed). Then I
remove the tailgate. I have made a block that fits
into the trailer hitch portion of the bumper (and is
secured with straps) bringing the top of the 2 x 12
ramp even with the bed. With one person pushing and
me along side pushing and steering I can easily guide
the bike up and into the truck without hangups.
