got my new clutch lever...but it's black!

So, okay, I ordered a 99 Tiger clutch lever for my RS and
just got it today.  It looks like it's definitely going to
fix the reach problem!!!  It's got this nice S shaped curve
in it to make the reach closer.  Only problem is, the thing is
black! And my brake lever is silver.  Does anyone know if
it was ever made in silver in a different year (yet still fits
the RS)?  Or is my best option to powercoat the brake lever
black?
