best shop (right combination of competence and customer service) in the LA
area. My engine is in thier hands, right now as I type these words. But, I
bought my bike in MI, and there are good shops closer to you that would be
competent to perform the services you want. One of the secrets to being a
happy Triumph owner is to find a good shop near you, and develop a
relationship with them. That way, if anything goes wrong, or needs tweaking,
you're covered. Its hard to do that through the mail. Paul at TriDet is
pretty knowledgable, have you talked him?

Actually Daphne my bike is at Paul's shop right now for some body panel
replacement from when I laid it down a few months ago after being run off
the road by a car. Thanks to Vanson I came out O.K.. Paul does not do the
Racetech mod he's not set up for it right now. That may change with a
personel move he's considering as this person has done some Racetech mods
when he worked at Sylvania Superbike, which is now out of business.

James, I bought my bike from Paul last year. I've been using his shop for
about three years now. I bought a Thunderbird from Rosenau in 1995 but their
service was terrible. I started going to Paul shortly after he got the
dealership from Detroit BMW.
Paul certainly is a character but he's a good guy. I've taken demo's
overnight and even put a few hundred miles on one. He even let me take his
own bike a turbo S3 for a good ride. I've been happy with the service I
receive at Triumph Detroit. Paul's real good about ordering stuff and
getting your bike serviced while you wait. At Rosenau i'd wait weeks for a
part at Paul's only a day or two.

James
