Clutch lever paint removal

Years back when I used to race BMX bikes many alloy parts were anodized. 
When the color started to wear thin we would use moms spray oven cleaner
to strip the parts back to silver.  Just like the can says, "easy off"! 
Might even save you a trip to the hardware store.
