Hi Mark,
I have a Kilimanjaro jacket also. It is totally waterproof, the trip home
from Laconia this year proved it. I have yet to have the jacket leak. It is
uncomfortable in 80+ degree temps, I don't use the vents because I find
them inconvenient to use, they do work though. The armor is nice, I haven't
had to use that either, though someone on this list did crash test one of
these jackets, and the jacket did hold up well, I recall.
For winter use, under 40F I would use it only with a electric vest. I find
that the zip in liner is warm, but the zipper lines up with the main zipper
and it leaks cold air in.
Would I use a Kili in Florida, not in summer no way. Put on a black vinyl
jacket and ride around for 20 minutes...that's the Kili too!
