RE: [ST] Jackets - Again

I have a Kilimanjaro jacket also The armor is nice, I haven't
had to use that either, though someone on this list did crash test one of
these jackets, and the jacket did hold up well, I recall.

I crash tested a Kilimanjaro jacket a couple of years ago. Got rear ended
and slid down the asphalt from 30MPH on my chest. The left pocket shows
some slight wear, my body had a bruise or two. I'm still wearing the
jacket.

I like the jacket for the protection. It fits me well, though the red fades
rather quickly. The ventilation is good up to about 90F and after that
nothing is really cool. I really like the zip out fleece liner, it's
adequate on cooler fall nights. They have a pocket for a water bladder and
the few rain storms I have ridden through, it has kept me dry.

There are many good products on the market. I don't think you can go wrong
with any of them. Buy the most you feel you can afford and buy the one you
will wear. I was just on my way to meet a date. The jacket saved a trip to
the hospital to get gravel picked out of my skin.
