[ST] Custom Ear Plugs

I have a couple of gun loving friends who had earplugs made at the local gun
shop. These things are huge and I didn't like the looks of them, plus they
stick out a bit and actually touch in inside of a motorcycle helmet there by
making more "noise".
I went to my local hearing aid store and had custom hearing aids made for
me. They are really small and have a "fishing line" like little wire that
you grab ahold of to pull out of your ear. These are hearing aids minus the
speaker and microphone. They drilled a hole through them to allow air
pressure changes and included 4 plugs to put in the hole with varying sizes
of holes in the plug. I ended up using the plug without a hole to eliminate
all the noise and haven't had much problem with air pressure changes. I wore
them the 10 days I spent in Colorado in attendance to the TSRA rally and
could wear them all day for 10 days in a row without any discomfort. My
yellow "squish 'em and force them in your ears" plugs would never be
comfortable for more than a day or so.
I paid $50.00 US for them and they are perfect for wearing inside a helmet.
Regards,
Daniel "Prairie Dawg" Miller
