Eric, I just went through this process with State Farm when someone 
knocked over my parked ST a couple of months ago. First, get a repair 
order (quote) from your dealer, then go to the claims office with that 
in hand. The folks at the claim office aren't qualified to perform 
estimates on bikes, so they have to have an expert (i.e. your dealer) 
opinion. They'll take a bunch of pictures, fill out some papers, then 
hand you a check for the entire amount listed on the dealer's repair order.
