[ST] Changing Springs Question

Since i have a hefty crack habit, I cannot afford to do both the emulators 
and the springs in my RS at this time.  I will have to settle for changing 
just the springs.

Does anyone know if I have to remove the forks for this job -- or rather, is 
it possible to do it without removing the forks.
