[ST] ST in Russia

Well guess what I saw here in St Petersburg last night. A blue ST. It was
late evening about 11pm and just starting to get dark, added to which it was
past in a flash of course. I think it was German plates. Seems likely
anyway.
I will resist asking if it was anyone on the list.
Very few touring bikes come here because of the practical problems of
customs and then security once here. However it will be easier next year
when I believe that three or five day tourist visas will be available on
entry. However I think that a trip along the Baltic coast from the Hamburg
area will be on my list of plans soon. The biggest concern in my mind would
be the driving. There are very few bikes here and mostly slow Rooskie
models. So drivers are not aware of the presence and capabilities of proper
bikes. Added to which lane discipline is unheard of, drink is endemic and
many people don't actually sit and pass driving tests preferring to pay the
optional bribe. Don't ask about insurance.
