Thanks for trying. I just returned, and while I didn't have the benefit of
your advise, it was a great time.

Briefly, I took 101/1 from LA to Santa Cruz, then east on 14 to San Jose,
then 580 to Pleasanton (stayed at a Wydam Gardens cheap, clean and friendly)
so ended a 500 mile day. Took off the next morning on 280 to Stockton picked
up 50 over to Tahoe and down to Carson City...this leg was a blast. Spent two
days in Carson City/Reno/Tahoe riding around with my little brother who rode
down from Seattle to meet me - he's got a '98 Honda CBRXX (blackbird). My ST
hung with him just fine. Great rides both days.

We headed south on 395 for Yosemite. Had breakfast at a great biker place,
the Grizzly Cafe on 395 in Walker California...I recommend it if your on the
way. We spent two days touring Yosemite, more great rides.

Split up and headed south out of the park on 41 another great ride 'til you
get to 99 south through Fresno and Bakersfield, it was 106 degrees and
nothing but tractor trailer rigs doing 85MPH that was a miserable couple of
hours.

Not a single unfortunate incident.
