[ST] RE: Squealing brakes

I LIGHTLY smear the retainer pin AND the back face of each pad with
"copperslip" brake grease. (The smear on the back has cured squally discs
for me on previous bikes.) Because it's only a smear, and because it
emulsifies with the brake dust, it's best to do this 2 or 3 times a year.

Ergo, my brakes don't squeal.

Just a cautionary note: only remove the old grease/muck with a cloth, and
maybe clean around the pads with a CLEAN wire brush. If you get any grease
on the friction surface, discard them. Do not try and use any solvent to
remove it.

FWIW (and whoever the correspondent) juddering brakes = warped discs = hard
luck ~:(
