Thought I would add my two cents of positive comments on my 2001 BRG ST.
Just had the 12,000 mile service and all valves were within spec.   Nothing
unusual, no complaints, no troubles.  My mechanic said they had a lot of
trouble with the latest tunes such as series 10, 11 and he even mentioned a
12, so they let the "old" tune in which seems to work just fine for me.

I got 12,000 miles out of the stock Battleaxes.  This beats my old record of
10,500 on my 99 ST.  In each case most of these miles were commuting/touring
with about 15-20 percent backroad bashing.

I put on Avon Azarro II's and am pleased so far.  The bike seems to require
just a hair more pressure on the bars to initiate a turn but when leaned over
it is like it is on rails.
