I was at my dealer yesterday to pick up a spare for my ST and he said there
was a faulty batch of cables that Triumph is aware of.

I was picking up the spare because after adding the GenMar risers, I've
noticed that where it passes throught the retainer loop on the right side
of the stearing head, it is chafing and the rubber jacket has completely
worn away. Has anyone else with GenMars had this problem? I never was too
comfortable with the way the cable had to be rerouted to install the risers
and I'm wondering if there is some other alternative such as a longer cable
from a different model.

By the way I paid $34 for the cable including tax.
