And if you don't trust "ol t-bone" here (and how could
you not) check your owners manual under:
Specifications; Fluids and Lubricants;  Engine oil. 
It reads:  "Fully Synthetic motorcycle engine oil
which meets specification API SH  such as Mobil 1
Racing 4T 10W/40."  The key words being  "such as".

Theres lots of good question answerin stuff in there.
