Re: [ST] RE: Another Booh Update (very long)

* If they do fix the bike, will I ever trust it?

Yes. *If* they can clearly identify what the defect was, and how it
was repaired. I wasn't too comfortable with it the first time I got
it back and they said, "we checked all the connections and cleaned
some corrosion off the battery terminals, then took it for a 40-mile
ride and it didn't fail."

My area of expertise is in computers, not things mechanical, but I'm
savvy enough to know when I'm being bullshitted, and if the cause and
effect are logical.

* Someone should pore over the wiring diagram.
* They should have contacted Triumph.

Actually, they have done both at this point, and they're working very
closely with the service experts at Triumph to isolate the problem.
When I talked to them last, Triumph had given them a list of several
things that they wanted checked and/or verified.

* I doubt they rewired the bike.

Actually, they did-- the entire wiring harness. I happened to be
there during part of the process, and I saw it with my very own eyes.
But this was over a year ago, just a couple of weeks after I bought
the bike. The problem was that there was a broken headlight wire when
it came from the factory.

* As someone pointed out in private mail, the CA lemon law doesn't
cover motorcycles.

Whoops! He's right. But I'm willing to bet that I could convince
them to replace the bike anyway.
