Lisa,
If you will remember, I wear the Draggin' Jeans with the Bohn Body Armor,
lycra pants underneath. The Bohn pants are very thin lycra, stretchy and
are very comfortable and cool (kinda like bicyclist pants). But they also
have full "CE" certified body armor in the knees/shins and hips. Between
the Draggin Jeans abrasion protection and the Bohn impact protection I feel
pretty comfortable. Not quite as much protection as your Vanson's but VERY
comfortable and cool.
Check it out at www.actionstations.com
I also have the Bohn "Airtex" body armor shirt, which I sometimes wear in
conjunction with my Joe Rocket "Phoenix" jacket. Great "hot weather" riding
combo.
