RE: [ST] RE Fuel sender



You know, I'd just as soon get rid of the fuel gauge altogether. I don't pay
any attention to it, especially since it does stay on the "F" for about 125
miles, then drops. All you need is about 5 to 10 tanks of riding to figure
out how far you can go with different riding styles and use your odometer! I
got my first sender replaced way back when simply because it would fluctuate
from "E" to "F" randomly and that was distracting. Plus there was the thing
about it possibly leaking... Anyway, 225 miles and I fill up, unless I'm
doing a freeway run and the low fuel light (which seems to be fairly
accurate and reliable) hasn't come on. Then its about 240 miles. I'd rather
a gear indicator be put in place of the fuel gauge.

Also, I have just gotten the 3rd fuel gauge and noticed the same thing -
stays full for about 95 miles, then begins to come down rapidly. Fuel low
light came on at 190 miles info
