I have had exactly the same experiences, and although I have only 12,000
miles on mine, I see no reason to upgrade the suspension on it yet. I get
through some pretty tough sections of road without any lack of confidence,
and if my RS is down on power, I can't tell. The only time I've put it
tete-a-tete with a Sprint ST and a rider of equal (better actually,
Jim-Karl) skills, the RS was the ST's equal in every respect except one: I
could get more lean angle, scraping even the sidestand, because of the
higher pipe and no hard bags. All on stock Bridgestone BT-020, which I still
like.

Glad you like the RS, and I hope you have one or more in your line-up for
the tours. More riders should get a taste of what I know to be a great bike,
and a good value.
