Always wear earplugs.  Currently happy with the Hearos.

NRR (Noise Reduction Rating) refers to the dB value that the earplugs 
are capable of reducing.  If they just said 30dB, then those of us who 
are't smarter than the average bear might just assume that the earplugs 
only let 30dB through to the ear (reguardless of the original dB value 
of the noise), rather than letting 70dB through on a noise rated at 100dB.
