[ST] ST vs VFR

Robert, do yourself one more thing before you buy. Call your insurance
company and ask for a quote. In my case the ST was over a third less per
year. A thousand dollars disappears fast at that rate:-)
Biased? Yes. Why? No brag but I've now owned thirty two motorcycles
since 1964 and my first Honda S-90. Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki,
Husqvarna, Bultaco, etc. First Honda 500 four sold in Texas, two
Kawasaki triples, GS750E Suzuki, etc. Bottom line is that for doing
everything so well the ST is the BEST motorcycle I've ever owned.
I was talking to some buddies at the Dallas Cycle World motorcycle show
about riding with Bird Dawg and myself on the weekends. They ride CBR's,
R1's, etc. Their jaw dropped when i told them we meet at Whataburger and
then do about 300 miles in the next half day. "How can you stand to ride
a bike that long"? My response was "Oh yea, you guys are riding those
bikes".
Get one and you'll never look back. Don't get me wrong. If I had the
deep pockets I'd love to have a 929 but if I have one bike that I'm
going to play on the back roads with, ride around leisurely, do 300 mile
rides on, or ride across the country then I've found the best tool to do
the job.
There is one other factor: what a blast when you stop for gas or to eat
and have those folks coming over and passing all of those VFR's to see
that TRIUMPH!
