[ST] RS 500 mile service complaints

I took my new 00 RS in for the service today and I told the guy I wanted the
fuel sender done as per the recall. I also pointed out a couple other
details I wanted looked at. The first was the clutch side bar end billet
had a gap of about 1/4 in. between the start of the billet and the end of
the grip. Secondly I had noticed that there is this big brass washer under
the triple clamps, and it just spins around when you play with it. I
assumed it was some kind of cover for the head bearing, but I was concerned
because it moved so easily.
I picked up the bike this afternoon, the guy told me they did the service
and that they lopped 1/4 in. off the clutch clip-on handlebar. He said that
if I wanted to persue it through Triumph he would write it up and try and
get a new clip-on, I thought this was kinda weird, but I just wanted to ride
so I told him I would think about it. It definitely fixed the problem, I
just don't know if it was the correct fix.
When I got home I started looking through the paperwork and noticed they did
NOT do the fuel sender unit, as per the recall. This infuriated me, as I
was the one who brought it to their attention, including handing them the
recall notice which I printed out from the web.
So I got on the phone with them and talked with a different service guy and
mentioned that I just spent a ton of money in there last week, and was
pissed that they didn't do the fuel sender unit. Then I mentioned that I
want Triumph to replace the clip on, just cause I was pissed that they
didn't call me to see if they could lop the 1/4in. off the bar end. He said
for me to bring the bike back tomorrow and he would do the fuel sender unit
and take a look at the bar. This was, to say the least, a confidence
shaking experience. I had heard good things about this dealer, and now am
beginning to wonder what I am going to do. Have any of you had similar
dealer experiences?
Should I be writing a letter to Triumph or should I give these guys a chance
to redeem themselves? What would you guys do?
