One practical consideration on this choice. If you ride a lot of miles (I put on 25,000-35,000 per year), the Sprints have steel cylinder liners that can be rebored when they wear out. The VFR uses ceramic impregnated alloy liners that will probably last longer, but when they do wear out, the bike is pretty much disposable. This probably isn't an issue for most people, since I seldom encounter bikes with more than 30,000-40,000 miles.
