Did you ever play with Routt kits for going faster?? I did a '70 Bonnie
with a 900cc routt kit and cams. Once the Mikuni's were dialed in... oh
boy!!! Only problem with that bike was it didn't take corners too well.
Even though it had Ceriani front forks. DLS brakes were pretty good as
far as drum brakes go.

My 69 Rocket 3 has a big bore kit in it. I am still perhaps a year away from
finishing the resto-upgrade.
