Nick,

10% error seems to be the consensus 'round here (I've seen estimates bewteen 
8-10%).  My riding buddy, on a Trophy 1200 has about 6-8% error, so he shows 
a slightly lower reading at any given speed, but, curiously, always shows 
more miles than me at fill-up.  I think he weaves more. ;-)

p.s.  I don't know how extremely accurate those mile marker posts are. Ever 
see the guys who put them up?  I think they use a sextant for location.
