[ST] Heated Grips

I fitted Netronic grips to my ST - although the right grip got comfotably
warm the left grip didn't get warm enough. I contacted Newtronic, they
replied...

"Unfortunately this common, the degree of difference
depending on the bike. The throttle side has the twist grip between the heat
and the bars, the other side doesn't. If the bars in question are good heat
conductors (i.e. thick aluminium, rather than steel) one side will draw heat
away faster than the other, and if the throttle side twist/slide part is a
good insulator, the difference is made greater. It is something that all
heated grip manufacturers have been looking for a solution to.

The only thing we can think of, is making the grips hotter, and putting a
diferencial heat controll between the 2 grips, with a seperate controll for
the overall temperature. As technology stands at the moment, this would more
than double the cost of manufacture of the grips. We are still looking for a
way to do this, so the battle isn't over yet.

I'm sorry we can't be of more help at the moment."

I now have Triumph grips, they are much better but the left is cooler than
the right on both settings.
