[ST] Tire Question

"It's getting cold enough, I think I can safely ask this question. :) I
commute 500 miles a week, and I
am more interested in tire durability rather than sport handling. Any
suggestions for a tire that can
get between 10 - 12K miles? "
I just got 10K out of a set of Macadam 100s. But the reason why is that
I was on a trip focusing on twisties, BC, West Coast, Denver to Las
Vegas the LONG way. I was on the sides of the tire almost as much as
the middle. My problem is that in day to day rididng, I wear the middle
out long before the sides.
I've heard tell that increasing tire pressure will net better mileage
(fuel and tire) but I tried it on another bike and didn't like the
(negative) handling impact.
