Re: [ST] Comparo : ST -v- ST4s

The ST is a Great bike. It's also less $$ than the Ducati ST4s...
about $3,000.00 less ( ST with bags and heated grips) and here in NJ
classed a touring bike.. yea right! At 230 lbs you WILL need to make
some suspension upgrades since you will find the springs a bit soft,
and at 6'7" you may not need bar risers at all, since I imagine that
you won't have much trouble reaching the bars! The all new for 2002
Honda VFR looks to be a winner..with optional ABS brakes $11,000 and
FINALLY optional factory hard bags, figure a grand for them (but no
factory heated grips.. yet) The Aprilia Futura is a sweet ride too,
$13,000 with bags ( no hot grips).. nice thing about the Futura is
that it is NOT classed a sport bike like the Duc and Honda. Zawasaki
has the new ZZR1200 sport tourer coming out, could be a sweet one,
but I'm sure will be classed as a sport bike. And since you already
own a K12LT there is of course always the BMW K1200RS ,which is also
for insurance purposes considered a touring bike but is ..gulp.. 18
grand with bags! So what too choose huh, well with winter near I'd
check out all of the new stuff at the Philly and NYC bike shows, and
try to ride as many as possible before I made my choice.

Erik

Also in NJ...... Yo you from Joiesy?.. what exit? :-)
