Bill,
Depending on whether the dent has resulted in a bad crease or not, you could
try something that I was shown (for a dented MG Le Mans tank) a long time
ago.
Drill through an old gas cap (or even a new old - it's a small investment)
and fit a Schrader valve (tire type air valve). Make sure it is as air
tight as you can reasonably get.
VERY CAREFULLY pressure up your tank - depending on the type of dent, it may
pop out. My did, as it wasn't a bad dent - it popped at about 20 psi.
Another guy had a really bad dent which wouldn't pop out - he pressured up
too much and blew the tunnel out. If you do try this, be VERY careful.
