Chris,

There's no need to look at a schematic, except to decide where you want to
get power for your PIA lights (which is a separate issue).  Think about the
functionality you described.  You're not changing the way the headlights
operate -- you want them to be on any time the ignition switch is on and
this is the way they operate now (and this the way it must remain -- by
law).  You are proposing that the additional switch perform a completely
independant job, namely to control the PIA lights.  Simply wire up the the
UK headlight switch to do this simple on/off task and you're done.  There's
no need to tie that fuctionality to anything else.
