RE: [ST] Re: UK headlight switch assembly

Neil,

I need the extra functionality because I want the option of having the PIA
lights off, but the stock lights still on. I want this in case I am running
other current drawing equipment that would put me close to the ST's 40 amp
limit. Simply wiring the PIA's up to the US stock switch wouldn't allow me
to ever have them off without a separate switch.

Chris,

There's no need to look at a schematic, except to decide where you want to
get power for your PIA lights (which is a separate issue). Think about the
functionality you described. You're not changing the way the headlights
operate -- you want them to be on any time the ignition switch is on and
this is the way they operate now (and this the way it must remain -- by
law). You are proposing that the additional switch perform a completely
independant job, namely to control the PIA lights. Simply wire up the the
UK headlight switch to do this simple on/off task and you're done. There's
no need to tie that fuctionality to anything else.

Comprende???

Neil
