Very odd Doug. I too have the vision plus bulbs, for about 9 months and at 
least 10,000 mil. with no problems.  Were the bulbs actually burnt out? 
(duh, I guess that would be a yes). You might want to check the voltage to 
that housing, could have a short from your ham-fisted installation. :-)

Also, a loose fitting bulb might short out, make sure you have a solid fit 
in the housing.
