[ST] A visit from the Sheriff (part 1 of 2)

It was 4:30pm yesterday after a hard day in a week of hard days. I was
winding down and starting to organize my thoughts in the direction of
leaving on time (for a change) when our receptionist escorted one of
Pinellas County's finest to my office.

"This officer is looking for you, I think" I was told.

My first reaction was puzzlement. Why would this officer be looking for
me?

Could it be something to do with the felony assault I'd witnessed a year
ago? No, the perp chose to plead guilty after his attorney couldn't
shake my detailed account of the event.

My only other interaction with the law involved the accident I was
involved in when riding Tom Emberson's ST in May.

"Are you the owner of a blue Triumph Sprint ST?" I was asked.

OK, now I'm *REALLY* puzzled. This had nothing to do with the accident
and I've never even had a ticket. Why would the Sheriff's office be
looking for me? Could Jewel have been stolen? She was secure in the
garage last night but my wife had been out part of the day. Oh, no!

Cautiously I acknowleged that I was the owner of said bike.

"Good, I've been looking for you" he says. YIKES!

[No time to type more at the moment. Continued in part 2 later today.]
