[ST] the oil drip

Well i am sure that you all have just been dying to hear about the
solution to my oil leak. i took it to the shop and they originally
found that the leak came from the drain bolt. So they replaced the
gasket and said "its done" So i drove the hour to get the bike and rode
it home. i was happy the next morning when i did not find any oil. it
was just a tease. i rode for about 60 miles that day and parked the
bike. the next morning i saw oil drips on the ground. i rode it to
work and there was more oil when i got done with work. So off to the
shop i went. here is hopefully the final trip for this problem.

The mechanic sprayed the engine with desinex in order to better see the
leak. they started the bike and waited. the engine warmed up and they
shut it off. they came back and saw that it had leaked out of the drain
plug again. now here is the interesting part. it was not leaking from
around the bolt. it was leaking thru the bolt head. So they got a new
bolt. and it supposedly works fine. The mechainc said that the bolt
must have been cracked at an oil change from being tightened to much.
and since the last time i got an oil change was from trackstar
motorsports i am suspecting it happened when i got my 12000 service.

i heard that trackstar does not work on triumphs anymore....maybe that
is not a bad thing. thanks for the advice as to where to look for the
oil leak.
