Re: [ST] tall windscreen - and comments

>Anyone have a tall touring screen for an ST?

I have one...paid the dealer price and love it. There is hardly any wind
buffeting, and even with a big tank bag, I can still get behind the screen.
Highly recommended.

I bought my 01 BRG ST on June 1st, and it's 500 miles overdue for it's
12,000 service. ;-)

Spare clutch cable under the seat for me...I did learn the hard way.

Yup, me too.

Funny, my peg-feelers are about 1/2 as long as stock and have a huge flat
spot on them! :-) Yeah, and my rear tyre has a little flat spot from the
long ride home.

Seriously, I too couldn't be happier with my Sprint ST. Love it love it
love it. It's the perfect bike for what I do....ride a long way, sometimes
on boring stretches of road, find the most radical twisties you can and
hammer away, camp at night, wake up and do it all over again. For this
purpose, there's not a better bike on the market today.

One comment for those thinking of Givis compared to the Triumph
bags....ante up for the Triumph bags. I have used both. The Triumph bags
pack much better (i.e. hold more) and integrate much nicer. Yeah, the
exhaust can needs to be in the lower position, but who cares? If you're
riding on the street with bags, you shouldn't be scraping your muffler
anyway...

Finally, I was the one asking about a 190/50 rear tyre a month ago, and I
just returned from a trip down through the Appalachian mountains...and yes,
Deals Gap. The jury is still out on the 190. Initially, it affected the
handling quite a bit and caused a lot of oversteer. I jacked up the front
preload to counteract this, and it did help a lot. I'm still using 100% of
the tyre all the way to the edge, so the mental thing is still there for
me. It does seem to turn in faster with the 190 (which is more triangular
than the 180) but the feel is very different. I'm not sure I like it, so I
may go back and forth on this one for a while. Luckily, I change my own
tyres, otherwise this could get expensive.

My $.02
