new owner questions and concerns

road racing world gave a very unflattering report on the rs. one of their 
criticisms was loosing hp when the motor got hot due to the air intake 
snorkels pointing down to the radiator cooling fan.while having the fuel 
tank off to recall the low fuel level sending unit, i simply rotated them 
upwards to more point over the radiator. any thoughts out there about this? 
i have the triumph belly pan and i noticed the bracket at the left front 
side of the motor is pressing hard against the hose from the water pump to 
the bottom of the radiator, below the coiled loop of wire supporting said 
hose. i just bent it out of the way with a small vice-grip pliers.
