I don't know where these other "reports" of electrical problems on VFRs
are coming from, since I've been keeping up with VFR stuff for a few years
and have only seen one recurring problem with the Regulator/Rectifier unit
"frying" itself, presumably due to high heat where it was placed in
pre-1998 models.  I have it on account from one 98 owner who has
experienced this first hand, but it doesn't seem to be as wide spread as
it once was in prior years.
