RE: [ST] More Cable Questions



Same for me. About 75% of the strands snapped about 15 mm from the end.
Evenso I couldn't change gear with it, but enough to take it out of gear
and let me ride home in 3rd!

On my bike the cable never fully broke (caught it in time) but it
appeared
to be frayed from rubbing against the part where it goes into the
sheath.
It would have broken half an inch or so down from the swage.
