RE: [ST] Update on Blue Devil

Yup, that's true; (and BTW, I surely agree --most SF and other ins. dudes
and dudettes don't understand the attachment we have to those no seatbelt
things on two wheels).

But they will do right on some things, given enough "encouragement." Some
years back I received enough on an estimate on a Ducati 900SS (derailed by a
diesel oil spill and an errant R100T) to purchase an new 900M AND repair the
SS -it took them a while to realize that the high retail plus accessories
that I was claiming was legitimate, again, no comps, so the dealers words
worked wonders with the claims supervisor. SF gave me the money for a new
Arai helmet when I told them it was a state-mandated piece of safety
equipment (for which they had lobbied), and, additionally, gave me $1200 USD
for my scarfed up legs. But the jacket and gloves and jeans had to go
through the usual "clothing" route.

And after some 45,000 Duc miles, 25,000 Trophy 12 miles, I am now loving the
ST. Gadzooks! Can't wait to do the suspension and tires and I want a turbo
BAD!! Had one on a Rickman Kaw CR some years ago, but it was the old
"wait-for-the-eruption-that-lingers" style. And the new stuff doesn't lag
and overboost like that old Rajay B40 did in such a fashion as to make
braking a serious late-in-the-game horsepower-producing, white-knuckling,
sphincter-puckering, undy-striping MOMENT.

I had never thought of my so-called "clothing" not being covered. I just
called USAA and verified it. They said that clothing would have to be
covered under homeowner's insurance, which has a minimum deductable of $500.
This means that if I do put my bike down, I'm out a $500 deductable for the
automotive coverage, and another $500 for my protective gear.

She said that the bike coverage insures the bike and anything attached to
it. She wasn't impressed when I said that I'M attached to the bike. Must be
a cage driver; they just don't understand.
