I have to respectfully disagree.  The first helmet I had was SNELL & DOT
approved, but it was 2-3 times as noisy as my RF-800.  (A friend has it
at his house for his girlfriend to use on their occasional ride or I'd
tell you the brand.)  It may protect my skull the same, but it
definitely does not protect my hearing the same :-)!  Still, with all
that said, I've not worn the HJC you are talking about so I can't
compare it to my Shoei.
