Where I ride it can go from 50 degrees on the coast to 100 degrees inland
so I usually wear a t-shirt, sweatshirt, Widder vest and then my leathers.
I like the fact that it's a vest because the leathers are tight even with
just the sweatshirt (and I don't have big arms by any means). Having the
sweatshirt underneath spreads the heat pretty good.
This layering effectively gives me 4 heat levels
1. t-shirt, sweatshirt, vest turned on, jacket
2. t-shirt, sweatshirt, vest turned off, jacket
3. t-shirt, sweatshirt, jacket
4. t-shirt, jacket
For the really cold weather I add a First Gear insulated bib, and combined
with the heated grips and everthing else I stay pretty toasty except for
the toes.
