Makes sense.  Track riders often deliberately (get the mechanics to) introduce
air into the rear brake system, as in a panic you are capable of placing
several tons (tonnes) of pressure with your right foot.  The presence of air
reduces the effectiveness of the brakes. (as we all know).

Since my brake pads and fluid were replaced at my 12K service my brakes have
been exceptional*.

*They were good enough before to cause a front wheel lock-up in the dry - so I
am not sure what that makes them now :-)
