This is one very good reason, I *ALWAYS* carry a pair of mini-vise-grips!  
Over the years they have been used as a rear-brake pedal, a shift lever and 
a clutch.  They have also been used to hold various loose bits together. 
(Please don't ask the circumstances <g>)

Almost as universally useful as Duct Tape and Zip-Ties.

Don't leave home without any of'em.........

And a siphon hose, and spare fuses, and a crescent wrench, and a tire repair 
kit, and sunscreen, and ibuprofen, and............
